Installing openFLIXR on unRAID

Today i’m going to install openFLIXR on my unRAID setup. Start by downloading the most recent image, and put it on you image directory so you can acces it.

Creating the VM

Go to VM’s and select linux

Auto start: yes
name: openFLIXR
CPU: I’m giving it 4
RAM: 4096mb
Bios: SeaBIOS

Primary vdisk location: Manual, in my case my image share:

And last but not least, don’t forget to select the correct network adapter, in my case br0.

Now click “create VM”

Now via VNC connect to the VM.

And you’re done! Next browse to the webpage and start configuring your openFLIXR instance.
In other posts i will discuss more advanced openFLIXR configs.

My first day messing with unRAID, but I believe some things may have changed since you posted this. In order to get the VM to boot I had to change from OVMF to SeaBIOS (UEFI to Legacy boot) which took me forever to find since it was an “advanced” option and it took me looking at the config screen about 10 times before I noticed the advanced switch in the uppper right hand. Also being completely new I wasn’t real sure how to setup my images share, not a biggie for me but others might not be so quick to figure that part out. Anyway, thanks for these guides, making this FreeNAS to unRAID migration stupid simple for me.
